Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in collaboration with UK Department for International Development (FCDO/ DFID) is implementing the program of Payment by Results (PbR) Scheme in 26 regions of Tanzania Mainland in support of the second phase of the Water Sector Development Program (WSDP-II) in rural Tanzania. The PbR scheme is a performance based financing program focused on supporting the rural water supply and sanitation sector of Tanzania Mainland.
The aim of the PbR scheme is to accelerate progress towards more effective service delivery by providing RUWASA (in Mainland Tanzania) with additional incentives while enabling stakeholders to focus on sustainable maintenance of water supply infrastructures. FCDO/DFID support began during the BRN initiative of June 2012 expected to end in March 2022.
This plan has been implemented in phases from the first phase and now the sixth phase. currently, the sixth phase verification's is expected to start from September 5 to October 3, 2021
