During the establishment of RUWASA, total of 1,379 water schemes were inherited from TAMISEMI. Of these, 177 schemes had challenges in providing water services to citizens, 1,202 schemes had been completed.
Until January, 2024, RUWASA has made great efforts to complete a total of 159 schemes out of 177 that had challenges, 18 schemes are in various stages of completion.
For the financial year 2023/2024 RUWASA plans to construct 1,546 water scheme projects
For the Financial Year 2022/2023, RUWASA planned to construct 1,029 water projects of which 630 water projects have been constructed and completed.
RUWASA's strategies for revolutionizing water supply services, especially in rural areas, include: -
1. Construction of quality water projects and value for money.
2. Provision of using prepaid water meters
