Does RUWASA partake in borehole drilling?

Yes, RUWASA through Drilling Section is drilling boreholes in various parts of the country.

What are the costs of borehole drilling?

  • The cost of drilling a borehole depends largely on the following factors;-
  • The diameter and depth of the borehole.
  • The pipes used during its construction.
  • The type of formation to be drilled.
  • Price of materials and fuel consumptions.
  • The number of equipment needed at the extraction site for operations, such as a compressor, mud pump, generator, welding plant and mobile workshop.
  • The time it will take to measure the water supply capacity of the relevant well.
  • The average cost for boreholes drilling depends on the formations for example: Soft formations the cost in Tanzanian shillings ranges between (80,000 to 100,000) per meter, Hard formations cost ranges between (100,000 to 120,000) per meter and rock formation cost ranges between (120,000 to 150,000) per meter.

What are the procedures for drilling a borehole?

What are the costs of dam construction?

The cost of dam construction depends on the following factors: -

  • Environmental analysis.
  • Topographical Survey.
  • Soil research.
  • Architecture.
  • Architectural report.
  • Type of dam.

What is the significance of investigating underground water before drilling?

The benefits of doing reconnaissance before drilling are as follows: -

  • Reduces unnecessary costs.
  • Reduces losses from dry borehole that have been drilled without quantification.
  • The client knows the actual cost implications prior to project commencement.
  • Reduces unnecessary costs by providing depth accuracy, considering the depth of the borehole comes with cost implications.
  • Clients receive professionally designed boreholes.
