Minister of Water Hon. Jumaa Aweso has launched the Busenda water project in Kahama district, Shinyanga region, which has cost 344,480,060 Tanzanian shillings, funded through the Payment for Results Program (PforR) while congratulating the RUWASA Regional Manager for Shinyanga, Eng. Julieth Payovela, for managing the project professionally.

Minister Aweso said the construction of the project is due to the challenge of the lack of clean and safe services in the village of Busenda. About 3,551 people will benefit from clean and safe water services from the project.

In addition, the Member of Parliament for Ushetu constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Cherehani, thanked the government for implementing the project that will help reduce the challenges of accessing water supply services. The completion of the project will give the citizens ample time to participate in other economic and social activities and reduce the spread of diseases caused using unsafe water.

The implementation of the project has been done by RUWASA's internal experts in a system where its implementation officially started on March 10, 2023, and ended on September 5, 2023.
