GOVERNMENT TO START IMPLEMENTATION OF WATER PROJECT 57 KYERWA VILLAGES
ABOUT 83,000 CITIZENS TO BENEFIT
Deputy Minister of Water Engineer Maryprisca Mahundi (Mb) has said that the Government has started the implementation of the water project in 57 villages in Kyerwa District. She said so far, the implementation of the project is ongoing in 27 villages which are Nkwenda, Rwabwere, Karongo, Nyamiaga, Nyakatera, Kagu, Masheshe, Nyamweza, Kaikoti, Iteera, Muleba, Chanya, Kimuli, Rwanyango, Chakalisa, Kikukuru, Omukitembe, Karambi, Rwele, Rubilizi, Mukunyu, Kitwechenkura, Rukuraijo, Makazi, Kibimba, Nyakatete and Mabira.
Engineer Mahundi has said this today January 30, 2024 in parliament in Dodoma while answering the question of Kyerwa state MP Innocent Bilakwate who wanted to know when the 57 Villages Water Project which will start from Kyerwa, Nyakatuntu to Kamuli in Kyerwa District will start so that the people can get water.
Engineer Mahundi has said that the works carried out in the projects include the construction of five (5) tanks with a total volume of 1,450,000 liters, the laying of pipes for a distance of 110 kilometers, the construction of 102 stations and 18 kiosks. The implementation of the projects has reached an average of 80 percent and is expected to be completed in May, 2024 and will benefit about 83,000 citizens. Projects in the remaining 30 villages will be implemented in the financial year 2024/2025
